PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The Valley family of double murder victims worked Saturday to raise thousands of dollars needed to pay for final expenses.

At the corner of 25th Avenue and Van Buren Street in the parking lot of Pep Boys Auto, friends and family washed cars and sold snacks for donations.

Police said Christina Wilson, 42, and her daughter Vanessa Wilson, 14, were found shot to death Monday inside their home near 25th Street and McDowell. The mom's live-in boyfriend and primary suspect, Michael Blanco, 41, was found dead the next day inside a Phoenix hotel from what police believed was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"It's hard, you know. We miss them dearly," said Christina Wilson's brother, Anthony Wilson. "To have them taken away, it's just heartbreaking."

"They were always smiling, they were always happy no matter what problems they had," said Denise Dominquez, Christina Wilson's cousin.

Dominquez said Christina Wilson worked at Vitamist Spray Vitamins, and Vanessa Wilson was a student at Camelback High School.

Many friends of the two showed up to help and donate.

"We're going to miss you, Christina and Vanessa. We love you so much," said two friends.

The family said their goal was to raise $15,000 to pay for both of the victim's final expenses.

"We are almost to our goal. We are getting there," said Dominquez.

The family said they are very grateful for the donations they have gotten so far. They are planning another car wash Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Pep Boys Auto parking lot at the intersection of 25th Avenue and Van Buren.
