AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

Auburn Police are searching for male suspect after a woman reported being sexually assaulted while jogging Tuesday evening.

The victim, 20, said she was jogging on West Samford Avenue near Lem Morrison Drive when someone grabbed her from behind, took her near the wood line, and sexually assaulted her.

The woman – who is not a student at Auburn University – said the suspect fled the scene on foot after she put up a strong resistance.  She was transported to East Alabama Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect is described as a college-age white male with facial hair and a muscular build.  He should have fingernail scratches about the neck and possibly the face.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Auburn Police Division at (334) 501-3140 or anonymously by text or voice on the tip line at (334) 246-1391.
