(WTVM) -
People all throughout the
valley are stopping by their nearest gas station to pick up their chance at
winning millions.
The drawing for the Powerball
jackpot is Wednesday night and the winning ticket could be worth $260 million before
taxes.
The chances of matching
all five numbers plus the Powerball are one in over 175 million.
But we spoke with one man
who tells us how humbling it would be to win, and that he would use that money
to help the community.
"I wouldn't quite
know the feeling but what would I do with that type of money? First thing I
would do is pay the taxes and get that out of the way and the second thing I
would do is give back to the community," said Frederick Thomas of
Columbus.
When picking your numbers,
it is important to keep this in mind: according to the Powerball website, 80
percent of the winning numbers were computer picks.
If you do win and decide
not to get the $260 million in installments, your lump sum cash payout would be
$161 million.
