DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

The Ball Cap Bandit was captured in Decatur, according to the FBI.

Cedrick Hicks, 33 of Huntsville, was caught Thursday just after 3:30 p.m. Thursday in front of the Peoples Bank in Decatur.

Decatur Police said federal agents were tailing Hicks when he was captured.

Hicks was captured without incident after his car was stopped near the intersection of 14th Street and 6th Avenue.

Witnesses said a silver BMW veered off of 6th Avenue onto the sidewalk.

There were four unmarked trucks, one which got in front, blocked the car, and forced it off the road.

Witnesses said the agents got out, guns drawn, and Hicks got out of the passenger side, where he was cuffed and taken into custody.

A woman was driving the car, but no information has been released about her.

Hicks was wanted in bank robberies in Hamilton, Cullman, Albertville, Guntersville, Decatur, Rogersville, and Pulaski, Tennessee. In every robbery, the offender wore a baseball cap.
