COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

An important lesson in history was given at Columbus State Thursday night by a woman who lived during the Holocaust.

Survivor Marion Lazan was the keynote speaker at Thursday's Legacy Celebration Banquet.

Lazan lived in Nazi Germany and endured years in a concentration camp, weighing just 35 five pounds at age 10 when she was liberated.

Lazan began speaking publicly about her Holocaust experiences in 1979 and wrote the memoir "Four Perfect Pebbles" in 1996.
