Lockdown over at 2 Columbus schools, stay tuned for details

(WTVM) - The lockdown at Kendrick High and East Columbus has been lifted while security and police are still in the surrounding area.

There is still no report of any incident on either campus.  The lockdown was put in place as a precautionary measure after MCSD security received notice  that a search for a suspect believed to be involved in a neighborhood crime is underway.

Students and staff are safe and school will be dismissed at the regular time.

Wesley Heights is under alert and in middle of release as elementary schools release at 2:30 PM, but security is in the area while the search for the suspect continues.
