AUTAUGA COUNTY— A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Parma, Ohio, man and injured four others Saturday afternoon.  The crash occurred on Interstate 65 northbound at the 197.5 mile marker.

Joseph J. Marino, 23, was killed when the 2001 Ford Escape that he was a passenger in collided with a 2002 Freightliner driven by John Purifoy of Ashville.

Marino was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.  Marino died today from his injuries at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. Purifoy was not injured.

The driver of the Ford Escape was Nader Hassen, 22. Hassen and his three other passengers -- Lamar Washington, 23; Michael Willis, 25; and Joseph Noah, 22 -- also were transported to Baptist South for their injuries.
