Lewis named PBC Player of the Week

Posted: Updated:

Augusta – After having a great all-around week, Columbus State outfielder Ryan Lewis was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

The Cougars went 4-1 this past week thanks in part to Lewis as he hit .526 (10-for-19). He had multiple hits in four of the five games, including a 3-for-5 effort against Flagler in which he drove in the walk-off runs with a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth.  He homered in the second game of the series, driving in two more and had multiple RBIs in three of the five games on the week.

For the week, Lewis had one homer, seven RBIs, drew four walks for a .640 on-base percentage, slugged .789, stole four bases in five attempts and scored nine runs.

He currently leads the PBC in runs scored and is third in batting average (.411), on-base percentage (.513) and stolen bases (15).

The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday, taking on Albany State at 6:00 p.m. ET at Ragsdale Field.
