19 year old arrested in connection to fatal Sunday shooting

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

On Monday April 1, the Muscogee County Robbery Homicide Unit made an arrest in the murder investigation of a Columbus man who was shot and killed Sunday afternoon.

The suspect, 19-year-old Devante Oshea Shepard, was arrested Monday afternoon at the Muscogee County Jail. At the time, Shepard was held there after he had been arrested Sunday evening on a charge of false swearing under oath.

Shepard was additionally charged with murder at 4 p.m. Monday.

The investigation is still ongoing, and some information has not been released at this time. We'll keep you updated on any new developments.
