Phenix City-Russell County has a rich history. Encompassing everything from Indian legends to famous bridges, from unsolved murders to martial law, it seems as if everyone has stories to tell about their version of the past.
If you are interested in learning more about our local history, join them for April's Historic Walking Tours! Sponsored by the State Department of Tourism, cities all over Alabama will be holding their own walking tours during the entire month of April. Phenix City is proud to be a first-time participant in 2013.
The dates are April 6, 13, 20, & 27. They will meet at the Phenix City Amphitheater at 10 am EST and take a walk with Jim Cannon, the District 1 city councilman.
