The Albany Panthers were the undefeated, defending PIFL Champions.

The Knoxville Nighthawks were winless, coming off a last place 2012 campaign.

It wasn't much of a matchup on paper, but as they say, that's why games aren't played on paper.

The Nighthawks jumped out early, and built a lead the Panthers just weren't able to come back from on their way to a 31-28 win.

Albany trailed 27-21 at half, and fought back to get the lead down to 31-28 with four seconds left.

But it was too little, too late.

The Panthers drop to 3-1 on the season. The Nighthawks are 1-4.

Albany travels to Alabama next Saturday.
