WTVM 4/15/13 Editorial: Saying farewell to Toomer’s oaks

(WTVM) -

There have certainly been a lot of changes going on at Auburn recently.

New coaching staff for the football team, talk of NCAA violations, and Harvey Updyke, the guy who poisoned the trees, has finally pled guilty and will be brought to justice.

The trees are dead and will be removed shortly, but before that happens, fans will be able to roll the trees one more time at a celebration planned for Saturday, April 20 after the spring football game.

At that celebration, the university will unveil plans to replace the trees and create a new environment at Toomer's Corner for fans to celebrate in the future.

If you are an Auburn fan, you need to be there on A-Day to show support for the new football team and staff and be a part of history at Toomer's Corner and roll the oak trees one more time before they are taken down.

War Eagle!
