One person injured after dirt bike crashes into MPD patrol car

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Alabama State Troopers are investigating an accident between a Montgomery Police patrol unit and a small dirt bike. The accident happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night at East Patton Avenue and Princeton Road.

According to authorities, the patrol car was traveling east on E. Patton Avenue when a dirt bike carrying two people crashed into the passenger side of the MPD patrol car.

One of dirt bike's riders was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The police officer was not injured.

The Alabama Department of Public Safety is investigating this accident as standard procedure, because Montgomery police were involved.
