REPORTING IDENTITY THEFT

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

If you or anyone that you know has been a victim of Identity theft you can report it to the federal government at ftc.gov/idtheft.

1. The first step to this process is to submit a complaint to the FTC and you will then print the filed report as a "theft affidavit"

2. The next step is to file a report about the identity theft, and get a copy of that report. You then need to bring your FTC paperwork when you file the police report.

3. Attach your FTC identity theft affidavit to your police report to make an identity theft report.
