COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Columbus Career Center is teaming up with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia to recruit around 200 workers.

The recruitment will be held Saturday April 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Career Center, located at 700 Veterans Parkway.

While a college degree is preferred, applicants must have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) and at least one year of previous experience as a customer service representative, a claims examiner, or a membership representative.

Applicants must have keyboarding and personal computer skills, along with verbal, writing, and problem-solving skills. They must also be able to work in a high-pressure, fast-pace environment, such as a call center.

Applicants must have a resume, a personal email account, and should dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.

The GDOL will screen and refer qualified applicants to the company for an online assessment and interviews.

Those selected will receive six to eight weeks of training on handling correspondence and phone inquiries, processing health care claims, and performing membership and billing functions.

Salaries range from $11-$15 an hour, depending on the type of job and experience.
