Tyler Police said a woman who reported being stabbed made up the whole story.

This afternoon, Tyler Police responded to the reported stabbing on the 800 block of Chilton Avenue. 39 year old Rebecca Jones said she came home and found a man inside her home. Jones said the man stabbed her multiple times.

In an interview with Tyler Police Investigators, Rebecca Jones admitted that she lied about being attacked and stabbed.  The incident never happened.  There is no unidentified suspect and no need for further public concern.   

Jones is facing potential criminal charges for False Alarm or Report, a class A misdemeanor, and False Report to a Peace Officer, a class B misdemeanor.
