PHOENIX (CBS5) -

GE Appliances has issued a voluntary recall on roughly 1.3 million GE, GE Adora, GE Eterna, GE Profile and Hotpoint dishwashers in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The dishwashers were sold between March 2006 through August 2009 for $350 to $850. The dishwashers were sold nationwide by appliance dealers, authorized builder distributors and other stores. The dishwashers were sold in exterior color and finishes of black, white, bisque, stainless steel and CleanSteel.

GE has issued the dishwasher recall because of 15 separate reports of electrical failures in the dishwasher's heating element. Seven fires resulted in electrical failures and three fires cause property damage since Aug. 9, 2012. There have been reports of injures because of the electrical failures.
