TUCSON, AZ (AP) -

A Tucson man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a 2011 crash that killed his brother has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Pima County prosecutors say 23-year-old Adam Acorn was sentenced Monday.

Acorn was originally arrested on suspicion of the more serious charge of second-degree murder.

He also was charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of endangerment after three other passengers in his car were injured in the crash on Sept. 2, 2011.

Authorities claim Acorn was under the influence of liquor and/or drugs when the car he was driving missed a curve and hit a tree.

They say 23-year-old Nicholas Acorn was a front-seat passenger in the car and later died at a Tucson hospital from his injuries.
