MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - The nationwide Drug Take Back proved to be a great success, especially here in Muscogee County.
The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office reports that nearly 700 pounds of prescription and over-the-counter medications were collected through the program.
The big white box was installed at the sheriff's department last week and since then has been filling up.
This is the second time that the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office has participated in the drug take back.
Sheriff John Darr says last year the department was able to collect 900 pounds of prescription and over-the counter drugs.
He says they are planning to install the boxes in other places in the future.
