MPD releases name of victim in city's 22nd homicide of 2013

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Montgomery Police are releasing the name of the homicide victim killed in a May 1, 2013 shooting on Alexander Street. 

Michael TImmons, 40, was gunned down shortly after 3 p.m. that day in front of a residence in the 900 block of Alexander Street. He was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition but later died as a result of his injuries.

Police say their initial investigation indicates the homicide is drug related.

Timmons death is classified as Montgomery's 22nd homicide of 2013.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and no additional details are available. 

Police ask individuals with knowledge of this homicide to call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, Secret Witness at 262-4000, or the Montgomery Police Department at 625-2831.

    Fire crews responded to a fire at a residence on Washington Avenue Wednesday morning.  According to Fire Chief Ricky Shores, four units burned, which displaced four families. The families were home at the time of the fire, but no one was injured.
