(WTVM) - Not enough people buckle up in Alabama.
New statistics show 45 people were killed in crashes during the month of April, and 26 of them were not wearing seatbelts.
One month earlier in March, 20 of the 42 people died on Alabama highways weren't wearing seat belts.
Officials say they have no idea why seatbelts weren't used but point to the fact this is a heavy travel season for motorists.
State troopers plan to drive home that point by conducting the annual 'Click It Or Ticket' campaign.
It runs from May 20 through June 2.
