The state of Georgia is being awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to help the homeless.

The secretary for the US's Housing and Urban Development awarded the state more than $800,000 in grants to support local homeless housing and services throughout Georgia.

This is the second rounds of grants for the state.

HUD awarded support for hundreds of programs throughout the state last March.
