COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The three-week adventure known as Scott's Ride for Miracles kicks off Friday May 3 in Columbus.
Scott Ressmeyer and eleven of his closest friends pull out today for a motorcycle trip across the lower 48 states.
Quite a crowd has gathered here at the Columbus Regional Medical Center for an event that is now in its fifth year, which is hard to believe.
Scott and his friends are headed west to bring attention to a most important charity, the Children's Miracle Network.
News Leader 9 plans to track the ride this year, thanks to a camera mounted on Scott's motorcycle.
We're offering a rider's perspective, if you will, as the bikers make their way through the South, the West, the North and the East, circling the country at a rate of about 400 miles per day.
We'll also have a special story related to this event later today.
Dante Renzulli talks with a young boy benefitting from the Children's Miracle Network. Look for the story on News Leader 9 at 6.
