Baconton vs Turner Co. postponed in 7th inning

BACONTON, GA (WALB) -

Baconton Charter and Turner County were locked in the 7th inning of a do-or-die game in the first round of the GHSA A-Public State Playoffs when the rains came down.

They'll stay that way until Monday.

The teams will finish the game Monday at 4 p.m. in Baconton. The Blazers and Rebels are tied at 4.

Turner County jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 4th off Ted Moore's double.

But the Blazers responded in the top of the 5th.

With two men on, Baconton's Tony Holland turned on a fastball and drove it over the left field wall to make it 3-2 Blazers.

Turner Co.'s Austin Rowan was down for several minutes after crashing face first into the outfield wall while giving chase to Holland's home run.

He would walk off the field on his own power with a busted lip.
