NOC pulls out of Whitewater outfitting deal

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Columbus Whitewater project is looking for a new outfitter with less than three weeks until the highly anticipated grand opening.

The River Restoration Project announced Wednesday that Natahala Outdoor Company will not be conducting river-running operations on the Columbus side of the Chattahoochee.

NOC says the company is too committed to other ventures at this time.

Whitewater Express, which will handle business on the Phenix City side, could undertake operations on the Columbus side as well.

The course is set to open Memorial Day weekend.
