Man threatens Columbus mayor, Carver High School

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A man is facing terroristic threat charges after police say he threatened to kill the Columbus mayor and bomb Carver High School.

Brian Reed, 20, is being held in the Muscogee County Jail on $85,000 bond.

He is charged with extortion, terroristic threats, and transmitting false public alarm.

Reed allegedly threatened Mayor Teresa Tomlinson's life and told police he was going to bomb Carver High School.

Officials claim the threats were sent in an email to the Columbus Police Department demanding $1 million in ransom.
