Goodwill Job & Resource Fair happening until 2 p.m. today


The Goodwill ColumbusSuccess Center is working to help local people find a job.

At the center located off MaconRoad behind Cross Country Plaza they are hosting a job and resource fair inbuildings A, B and E until 2 p.m. Friday.

They are doing this incelebration of Annual Goodwill Week.

About 37 employers andresources will be on-site offering services and employment opportunities.

We spoke with TiffanyNabors, the communications specialist for Goodwill, who explains the positiveimpact this fair can have.

"Every time a persongoes to work and they have a sustainable wage that contributes to the localeconomy because it means that not only can they take care of themselves andtheir family but they can also go out and contribute to the flow of moneythat's going through our community - and that benefits everybody," Naborssaid.

At this same event lastyear Goodwill had almost 500 job seekers show up, and this year they plan topass that number.

In 2012 Goodwill's SuccessServices and Training Centers placed more than 3,000 people in South Georgiaand East Alabama into jobs – that equates to an economic impact of more than $52million.
