PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

Four passengers on a light-rail train in downtown Phoenix suffered minor injuries when an SUV struck the packed train.

The collision happened Saturday at about 8:45 p.m. as both Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Rattlers games were ending.

The SUV's driver, 38-year-old Guadalupe Cobos Jr., showed signs of impairment and fled the scene at Central Avenue and Van Buren Street on foot, according to Phoenix police Spokesman Officer James Holmes.

The extent of the passengers' injuries wasn't available, though police said they complained of pain and were brought to a hospital as a precaution.

Police said Cobos ran a red light before colliding with the train and managed to run away.

An Arizona State University police officer eventually arrested Cobos about four blocks away.

Both the Light Rail train and the SUV sustained extensive damage.
