GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenwood woman was arrested after police said she threatened to kill her husband with a butcher knife after he came home late Saturday night.

Greenwood police said they were called to the couple's Louvenia Street apartment at 10:15 p.m. Saturday after a man called 911 scared his wife was going to kill him.

He said he returned home from a friend's and his wife was upset that he came home late, according to the police report.

Police said the wife, 54-year-old Delores Moseley, threatened to beat him after he asked her to calm down. Then she went into the kitchen to get a knife then came back out holding it over her head, blade down, and shouted, "I'm going to kill you," according to police.

Moseley's husband feared for his life because she had cut him in the past, so he tried to get her to drop the knife, police said. The report stated he bit her finger in the process and was able to push her away and called 911.

When police spoke with Moseley, they said she appeared intoxicated and told them that she did not intend to use the knife on her husband except to scare him.

Police said she showed them where she put the 8-inch blade, which was taken as evidence.

The report stated Moseley was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
