Governor Robert Bentley joined officials of HS Automotive Alabama, Inc., on Monday to announce that the company will invest $12 million to expand its facility in Enterprise and add 100 new jobs for the area.

The company is a Tier I automotive supplier for the Hyundai plant in Montgomery County.  HSAA produces weather stripping, tubing and automotive high- and low-pressure hoses for Hyundai as well as Kia and Chrysler.

"HSAA knows what makes Alabama so successful in economic development: Alabama has the best employees in the world with a work ethic that is second-to-none," Governor Bentley said.  "We have a positive business climate, and that helps companies like HSAA expand and create more new jobs."

This is the second time HSAA has expanded its Enterprise operations.  The company broke ground on its original facility in August of 2003 and announced its first expansion in 2006.

HSAA has seen tremendous growth over the last several years, and that continued growth led to the latest expansion announced on Monday.  As part of the expansion, the company will build a 65,000 square-foot manufacturing facility, which will be located in the second phase of the Yancey Parker Industrial Complex, directly across from HSAA's current facility.

Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey and House Speaker Mike Hubbard also participated in Monday's ceremony.

"I am proud to see another Alabama business add good-quality, high-paying new jobs to help put our people back to work," Lieutenant Governor Ivey said.  "Alabama has made great strides, particularly in the last two years, to improve the economic climate so that businesses can develop and grow.  HSAA is a solid economic partner, and I congratulate the company on 10 years of success."

"HS Automotive Alabama, Inc., is a true Alabama success story and serves as proof that our state continues to be a great place to do business," said Speaker Hubbard (R-Auburn).  "Our pro-business focus and successful efforts to reduce red tape make it possible for announcements like today, when a business has not only chosen to call Alabama home but can continue to expand its investment and create even more jobs for the people of our state."

The company is under the guidance of HSAA President Harry Kim.  In 2004, HSAA had roughly $4 million in sales, and nearly a decade later, the company is estimating nearly $150 million in sales for 2013.  HSAA already provides work to more than 270 employees in Enterprise.

HSAA in Enterprise is the first facility of Hwaseung Rubber & Automotive to be located in North America.
