COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Sheriff's Department held a Special Olympics meet-and-greet on Monday.
It was a chance for the participants and the Special Olympics athletes of the law enforcement torch run to get to know one another.
Sheriff John Darr emphasized the importance of their relationships.
"Were just lucky to show our support for the Special Olympics and I think it's a great partnership with Fort Benning," said Sheriff Darr. "It's a great partnership we have with local law enforcement including the FBI office here."
The meet-and-greet happened at the Government Center after the torch run.
