MOBILE, AL (WSFA) -

The announcement was made Tuesday morning that the LPGA Tour will be returning to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill in Prattville in the fall of 2014.

The Senator Course at Capitol Hill will be home to the Alabama LPGA Classic presented by the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

The event is being sponsored by three companies that did not want any publicity, so the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is the glue holding the deal together. While the companies' names were not revealed, they are said to be out-of-state, American businesses.

It costs on average between $3 million to $4 million to run an LPGA Tour. That cost is paid through ticket sales and cities. The actual purse for this tour will be $1 million and will be shared by the three unidentified companies.

Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie conceded not having the LPGA this year would hurt some in terms of sales tax revenues but did not feel it would be a major blow. In fact, he feels in the long run this will be good. It gives the city a break to get ready for 2014.

Also announced was the renewal of the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic, also to be presented by the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

The Alabama LPGA Classic will mark the tour's seventh visit to Prattville. The Navistar LPGA Classic was held in Prattville from 2007 until 2012, when Navistar pulled it sponsorship from the event.

Prior to that the RTJ Trail in Prattville hosted the Nationwide Tour Championship which qualified PGA golfers for the professional tour from 2001 until 2005.
