MEA robbery case goes to grand jury

Posted: Updated:

The case of the MEA Bank robbery that left two men dead is heading to the grand jury.

The grand jury is in session, hearing testimony on a case that all began in September of 2011.

Fort Benning worker Tony Carr was shot and killed along with robbery suspect Alrahiem Tolbert by a Columbus police officer.

Last year district attorney Julia Slater said evidence in the case revealed Carr was innocent in the robbery.

This incident has raised a lot of questions as to when an officer can use deadly force.

Michael Carr – the brother of Tony Carr – is testifying Tuesday as the grand jury decides whether or not to indict the officer involved.
