Parents, Students Fight to Keep Schools Open - Details @ 11

Good Evening I'm Barbara Gauthier in the WTVM Newsroom.  Here's your exclusive look at some of the stories our news team is working on for Newsleader 9 at 11.

School closings or more teacher furlough days - that was the choice parents were told the Muscogee County School District if facing as the school board struggles to make tough decisions.  Dozens of parents and students came out tonight to fight to keep two schools open.  We've got the latest on tonight's public hearing and what's ahead in the process.

Plus, no criminal charges will be filed against the Columbus police officer involved in a shooting that left two men dead - including an innocent bystander.  A grand jury today made that decision in connection with the shooting following the robbery of the MEA Federal Credit Union in 2011.  We've got the details and reaction from the victim's brother.

And the Philadelphia abortion doctor convicted of murdering babies learns his fate.  We'll tell you what punishment he received tonight.

Join us for those stories and much more tonight on Newsleader 9 at 11.
