PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) - Bobby Cook stepped down after seven seasons as Central High's softball coach to spend more time at his new administrative post with the school district, the school announced on Tuesday. Cook was named assistant principal at South Girard School in January.

Cook had a record of 194-100-1 in his seven years running the Red Devils, leading Central to four area titles, as well as a state runner-up finish in 2012.

Matt Hendricks was named to replace Cook as Central's head coach. Hendricks was head coach for three seasons at Russell County, with a 64-56 record running the Lady Warriors.
