BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

Beaufort Co. Sheriff's Office drug investigators arrested King Earl Morris, 36, and Amy Louise Doty, 27, on drug charges Friday.

During this month, Investigators began an investigation into Morris manufacturing methamphetamine. Investigators found out that Morris and his associates were purchasing items to manufacture methamphetamine. A search warrant was then obtained for Morris' residence located on Fox Island Ln. in Okatie.

Authorities executed the search warrant at approximately 7 a.m. and Doty was located and detained. Morris was stopped in a vehicle leaving the residence and taken into custody. The search yielded a small amount of methamphetamine and other items used to manufacture methamphetamine. Investigators also found waste, which was produced during the manufacturing process.

According to authorities, the investigation is ongoing and more people may be charged.

Morris has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, disposal of methamphetamine waste, and simple possession of marijuana.

Doty has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, disposal of methamphetamine waste, and simple possession of marijuana.

Authorities seized less than one gram of methamphetamine, miscellaneous items of bases, acids and flammables, approximately five grams of marijuana, two shotguns, and miscellaneous ammunition.
