American Cancer Society turns 100

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The American Cancer Society celebrates its 100 birthday on Wednesday May 22!

The organization proudly says they have been leading the way to transform cancer from deadly to treatable for a century.

On Wednesday they held a birthday bash at Carrabba's Italian grill in Columbus.

Today, two out of three people diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. survive for at least five years.

Every day nearly 400 people celebrate birthdays that would have otherwise been lost by the disease.
