Business Break - TIC Federal Credit Union

Posted: Updated:
Since 1956, TIC's goal has been to help members' and their families improve the quality of their lives with safe, cost-saving financial services.

Our mission is to be the premier provider of financial relationships for the betterment of our members' lives.

TIC Federal Credit Union was chartered by the Bureau of Federal Credit Unions in March of 1956. The charter was initiated by the civilian employees at Fort Benning. The military at Fort Benning became part of the TIC Federal Credit Union field of membership nine years later in 1965. Seventeen years later, in 1982, TIC expanded its charter to include off-post civilian firms, known as Charter Companies. Today, TIC serves more than 250 Charter Companies. In 2005, TIC's charter expanded to a community charter, which includes anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in Muscogee, Chattahoochee, Harris, or Marion counties in Georgia and Lee, Russell, and Macon counties in Alabama. In 1990, TIC merged with the City of Columbus Credit Union. In 1995, we reached $90 million in assets as we merged with Columbus Health and Hospital Credit Union, Kaydee Federal Credit Union and Gas Light Employees Credit Union. Because of our continued growth, TIC currently has five full-service branches and two service centers.

Today, TIC is over 40,000 members strong and growing. At year end 2012, TIC had more than $240 million in assets. We are homegrown and member-owned.
