Shoplifting Centerville mom denied bond

Posted: Updated:

25 year old Arkebia Albury will face more than just a misdemeanor after shoplifting from Centerville Galleria last month.

The Macon mom also ran over her 4 year old son during the getaway.

Centerville Police Chief Sidney Andrews told The Telegraph, "The child is in bad shape. It wasn't looking too good last night."

Centerville police charged Albury with two counts of cruelty to children, reckless conduct and theft by shoplifting.

The Georgia State Patrol charged her with serious injury by motor vehicle, failing to stop at an accident with injuries, driving with a suspended license and two counts of child seat belt violation.

The child suffered from brain swelling, a fractured skull, and cracked ribs. He may be taken off life support today.

Albury was denied bond.

Defense Attorney Larry Fouche says Albury needs to be with her son, and that she was named by county officials as the Head Start Parent of the Year in April.
