COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - If you just finished a good book and are looking for a new one, we may have a solution for you.
The 4-day Friends of Libraries used book sale is happening now at Columbus Public Library to support the library's programs. About 5,000 books will be on sale, most of them for under a dollar or less.
There will also be a table selling rare and collectible books. John Donahue, the president of Friends of Libraries, explained why it is important to make books so accessible and affordable.
"It's always good for children, and it's also good for people like teachers who are trying to stock a classroom library, you know, they can come back and get enough books, you know, to last them a year," said Donahue.
Organizers are expecting a huge turnout. They had to add an extra day to the sale just to accommodate the crowds. They estimate over 1,000 people will show up.
The sale will run through Saturday.
