Sophia Moss has read a total of 875 books this year, but her age may be even more surprising.

5 year old Moss attends T.S. Cooley Elementary Magnet School in Lake Charles, La., and it's having a hard time keeping up with her voracious love for reading.

"I told Sophia, I said we're going to have to order more books for T.S. Cooley Library because she's read so many of them and enjoys so many of them," school librarian, Mary Lanier, told WAFB in Baton Rouge.

Sophia's favorite books are the Curious George series, but she will read just about anything, day or night.

"I just like reading," Sophia said. "Reading makes me happy. I read like six a night."

Her father, Carl Moss, says her love for reading began with Elmo shortly before growing into a full-fledged obsession.

"It started with Elmo, and then we had a DVD of Hooked on Phonics and she just loved it and started watching it at 2-and-a-half years old," Moss told GoodMorningAmerica.com. "She learned her phonics, so we did sight words, and then we went to the LeapFrog books that we got at Wal-Mart. Short vowels, long vowels, and probably by 3-and-a-half she was sight reading and doing small, small sentences."

As for Sophia's future, her father already has high hoped for his bright young daughter.

"I want her to be an attorney," he said.
