(WTVM) - In consumer news today, outdoor retailer REI is getting out of the unintentional rental business.

The company's generous 100% satisfaction guarantee return policy is changing.

REI says it had been noticing more customers were taking back old and well-used merchandise years after purchase. Customers didn't even have to have a receipt. Now, customers have a year to return products with proof of purchase.

They'll have 30 days if purchased from the online outlet.
