COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The new McDonald's coming to Flat Rock Road in Columbus is bringing more than just food to our area - it is also bringing jobs.

Monday, the new Midland McDonald's has partnered with the Goodwill Career Center on Flat Rock Road to look for potential employees.

They are looking to hire up to 75 people for their new location and they say you do not need experience, just a great attitude.

We spoke with Emily Layton, the manager of Career Services at Goodwill, who explains what an impact this could have.

"Well I think it will be a great economic impact, I mean, that's 75 more people that have a job opportunity," Layton said. "They have the opportunity to really be able to build a career because McDonald's is not just about an entry level job; they have tons of career opportunities within the company."

This comes at a good time – the state of Georgia announced last week its unemployment rate for May was up slightly from April.

Goodwill has helped almost 4,000 people find jobs in the valley, resulting in an economic impact of more than $52 million.

The new McDonalds' is slated to open in early August.
