Most Wanted--Trailer Park Shooting

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

It was a family gathering that turned into chaos. A family barbeque that ended in gunfire leaving one person wounded.

"There were approximately 16 shots that were fired, casings were found one person was shot and interviewed. No one has any suspect information," says CPL. Deborah Whitley with the Columbus Police Department.

And it's that pertinent information Columbus police are seeking. According to witnesses, someone was spotted leaving the scene in an all black jumpsuit and wearing a black ski mask.

While this random shooting left one person injured, police say things could have been much worse. But investigators say those responsible should be brought to justice.

"We are still looking for the suspect or suspects in that shooting. You can remain anonymous, you don't have to give any other information other than whom or the information we're looking for. Your identity will not be given out. It will be kept secret," says Whitley.

This crime happened in early March. If you know anything that could help police make an arrest call (706) 653-3188.

Remember a reward will be offered for information that leads to an arrest.
