Posted: Updated:
AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

A group of Auburn University students are doing their part to protect computer systems across the country. They are part of the Cyber Security Research Center, earning credit by working on actual contracts with companies across the globe.

The students are pre-screened and specialize in defending corporate and national intelligence from cyber terrorist.

The students will graduate specializing in security defense. They will safeguard systems from cyber terrorists, similar to those who invaded the state's computer system earlier this year.

The state Legislature awarded Auburn University $1 million to expand its program.
