Three open U.S. House seats draw in crowd of candidates

Three U.S. House seats in Georgia are up for grabs in the 2014 elections. The seats are already drawing in a large crowd of candidates, with one major exception.

No Democrats have thrown their names in the hat yet for any of the races.

There's more than a year to go before the primaries, but Republicans are getting out early in races to replace GOP Rep. Paul Broun of Athen, Phil Gingrey of Marietta and Jack Kingston of Savannah.

They're all vacating their seats so they can run to succeed retiring U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss.

A total of 16 Republican candidates have launched campaigns for the open house seats.
