(WTVM) - General Motors is recalling 230,000 more mid-sized SUVs due to the risk of electrical issues in the doors. The risk of fire is high enough that they are advising consumers not to park their car in garages until repairs can be initiated.
Moisture has been found to leak into the door and tamper electrical connections. The window module can short circuit, overheat, and lead to a fire. As many as 58 fires have been caused due to this problem.
This follows a recall they made in August for 250,000 vehicles such as the Chevrolet Trailblazer and GMC Envoy.
Repairs will be made at no cost to owners even if the vehicle is out of warranty. GM said it will notify the owners and apply a moisture protection coating to replace the component.
