COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus City Council members have approved the final budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

The budget is over $260 million and will not require any city departments to cut positions.

In order to prevent those cuts Pam Hodge with the city's finance department says that the city had to dip into its savings reserve fund.

Over 30 departments will make up the 1.5 percent reduction initially requested by the mayor. Other city departments may have money put back into their annul funds.
