CSU participates in world’s largest swimming lesson

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Children across the country and here at home are raising awareness about the danger of children drowning.

They're doing it by taking part in the world's largest swimming lesson.

Tuesday, several people turned out to Columbus State University's student recreation center to participate in this global event.

This is the fourth year for the event.

Research shows that if a child doesn't learn to swim before third grade, they probably won't.

CSU is the only university site among 30 locations in Georgia participating in the global attempt to break the world record.
