Two Auburn residents have been arrested after police discovered they were in possession of stolen items and drug paraphernalia.

At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday June 18, Auburn Police officers responded to the 800 block of West Glenn Avenue in reference to an auto burglary in progress call. Jonathan A. Hibbert, 23, and 19-year-old Sara J. Moorer, both of Auburn, were contacted in the area after meeting a suspect description provided by witnesses.

Officers located several vehicles in the area that had been broken into.  Moorer's car, which was parked nearby, was later searched and stolen property from the vehicles broken into was located in her car.

A search was also conducted of a residence located in the 500 block of North Ross Street where Hibbert and Moorer live. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia was seized from the residence.

Hibbert and Moorer were arrested and charged each with two counts of unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle, first degree theft of property, and second degree theft of property.

They were transported to the Lee County Detention Center where they are currently being held.

Auburn police will continue this investigation and further charges are likely.
